Dominica digital nomad visa & residency (2026)
Dominica shaded by its digital nomad & residency status
Dominica operates a dedicated remote-work visa called the Work in Nature (WIN) Extended Stay Visa, launched in April 2021, allowing remote workers and their families to reside and work remotely in Dominica for up to 18 months. Applicants must earn at least USD 50,000 per year, hold health insurance valid in Dominica, and work only for employers or clients not registered in Dominica. A separate, long-standing Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programme offers full Dominican citizenship via qualifying investment from USD 200,000.
Key points
The Work in Nature (WIN) Extended Stay Visa grants remote workers the right to live and work in Dominica for up to 18 months. Employees, freelancers, self-employed individuals, and business owners are all eligible, provided work is performed for entities not registered in Dominica.
Applicants must be 18 or older, of good character with no criminal record, capable of working remotely, and have an expected annual income of USD 50,000 or more (or demonstrate sufficient means to support dependants). Valid health insurance covering Dominica is mandatory.
A non-refundable application fee of USD 100 is required upfront; the visa fee is USD 800 for an individual or USD 1,200 for a family. Applications are processed within 14–28 days; applicants have 30 days after approval to pay the visa fee.
WIN Visa holders are granted a waiver on Dominican income tax, capital gains tax, and dividend tax during their stay. Holders remain responsible for tax obligations in their country of tax domicile.
Dominica's CBI programme, one of the longest-running globally (established 1993), offers full citizenship — not merely residency — via a minimum USD 200,000 contribution to the Economic Diversification Fund or investment in approved real estate. No prior physical residency requirement exists; processing takes approximately 60–90 days.
The WIN Visa application is submitted entirely online via the official portal; no embassy visit or in-country presence is required to apply. Invest Dominica Authority also supports the programme as an investment-promotion gateway.
