Why is my follower graph marooned on the protocol where I built it?

ActivityPub and AT Protocol are both open, federated social protocols but they do not interoperate natively, so my network of followers and follows exists separately in each. Bridge services can relay posts across the two systems but cannot replicate the mutual follow relationship, which means leaving one protocol means starting my social graph at zero. With Bluesky above 34 million accounts and the Fediverse above 12 million, the split is large and growing. No standards body is currently chartered to define a portable social-graph interchange format that both communities would accept, and the data models are different enough that a clean bridge is genuinely hard to build.
