HELLO!

I'm Anurag Verma, a technologist and builder. I build the systems behind regulated digital finance: the rails that move money, hold assets, and keep both compliant. This page is the short version of what I work on and how I think about it.

Philosophy

Building the future,
not just technology

Technical excellence × Business impact × Lasting value

Most code never reaches anyone. The work I care about is the kind that ships, earns its keep, and passes the audit. In regulated finance, where a single bug can cost millions and one compliance miss can shut a business down, that discipline is most of the job.

01

Ship Products, Not Features

Complete products that users pay for and regulators approve, not feature lists that never reach production. In regulated finance the bar is simple: if it does not ship and pass the audit, it does not count.

02

Build for Scale from Day One

Early architecture decisions set the ceiling. Designing for far more than today's load is rarely wasted, because the debt you avoid now is the runway you need later.

03

Ownership Creates Excellence

Engineers who own outcomes, not just code, build better products. When your code guards someone's savings, the standard takes care of itself. The teams worth building are the ones that feel that weight.

04

Speed is a Feature

Fast iteration beats perfect planning. Ship, learn, iterate. Deploy often, treat bugs as data, and let momentum compound. The best product is the one that is live.

The best engineers I know think like founders. They understand that great code is just the beginning. What matters is building something people trust with their money.

I build the infrastructure behind regulated digital finance: exchanges, custody, tokenization, and the compliance systems that let them run. Eight years doing it, much of it before these categories had settled names.

What the work actually is,
from smart contracts to exchange engines to the teams behind them

Most of it has been at LCX, a MiCA-regulated exchange in Liechtenstein, where I lead technology. It spans the full stack of regulated finance: trading systems, custody, user management, KYC, and the security and compliance everything else depends on, currently including ISO 27001 certification. I care less about titles than about whether a thing ships, holds up under load, and passes the audit. That bias toward what works in production is most of what I bring.

Everyone says regulation kills crypto. I have shipped regulated crypto for years. What kills crypto is products nobody can trust.

Beyond the Code

⛓️

On-chain since 2017

I started building on-chain before DeFi had a name. Not a pivot into crypto, a start in it.

🏗️

Systems, at scale

Exchange engines, custody, compliance suites, L2 infrastructure. The part I enjoy most is making systems hold up when the load is real.

👥

Teams

Built and mentored engineering teams across India, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland. The ones I am proudest of outgrew me.

🌐

Regulated by design

Co-authored the Liechtenstein Protocol and helped secure registrations under the FMA. My bet is that the version of crypto that lasts is the one that works inside the rules.

✈️

In the rooms

Industry and policy events across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Most of what I learn about where this is heading comes from those conversations.

📚

Still reading

Cryptography, security, new consensus designs. This field rewards people who keep learning, so I try to.
